1.What is the best grade of titanium?
The Grade 5 was successfully developed by the United States in 1954.Because of its good heat resistance, strength, plasticity, toughness, formability, weldability and corrosion resistance and biocompatibility, Grade 5 is the best grade of titanium.
2.Why is titanium difficult for CNC machining?
The thermal conductivity of titanium is very low, only 1/7 of steel and 1/16 of aluminum. Then the heat generated in the process of machining ,will not be quickly transferred to the work-piece or taken away by the chips.They will gather in the machining area, the temperature can be as high as 1,000 ℃ or more. Such high temperatures will damage the cutting tool ,further shortening the life of the tool.
